Data Sources & Methodology
Exactly where our numbers come from, and how our tools work.
Stock prices & history
NSE-listed stock prices come from the official NSE daily Bhavcopy — the end-of-day price file published by the exchange. We update it daily and store a rolling price history to power charts, 52-week high/low and 1-year returns. Prices are end-of-day and may be delayed; they are not live tick data. Bhavcopy prices are not adjusted for splits or bonuses, so a corporate action can show as a step in a chart.
Mutual fund NAVs & returns
Mutual fund NAVs come from AMFI (Association of Mutual Funds in India), the official source, refreshed daily. We list the Direct-Growth plan of each fund. Returns (1Y, 3Y, 5Y CAGR) are computed from the NAV history we store. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
Gold & silver rates
Our gold and silver figures are indicative, derived from the international spot price converted to rupees at the live USD/INR rate. Actual retail rates in India also include import duty, GST and making charges, so the price at a jeweller will be higher. We label these clearly as indicative.
Calculators
Our calculators use standard, published financial formulas — for example, the future value of an annuity for SIPs, reducing-balance EMI for loans, and compound interest for deposits. Calculations run in your browser; we don’t store your inputs. Where a result depends on rules that change (such as tax slabs), we update the tool and note the applicable year.
